All Day Herding Introduction Clinic

 For Mini Aussies and their handlers. Reservations are required. Limited to 12 teams. Each team is charged $60 for the day

Lunch will be provided. Bring your chair, plenty of water, dog’s crate, and treats for your dog.

Day begins at 9:00 am with introductions from Susan White. She will review the day’s schedule and explain the fundamentals of herding. Each handler and dog team will receive plenty of individual instruction and participation.

Essential Elements in Training: Interest, Recall off the stock, Stop, Flanking commands, Out, Walk up.

Some Basic Herding Terms: Outrun, Lift, Fetch or Gather, Balance, Pressure, Bubble or Flight Zone, Drive.

Maine Mini Aussie Fun Day

10:00 a.m. - Gather together to socialize with coffee and donuts.

11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  - Rally-O seminar, and if time allows the Agility demo followed by members giving their dogs a chance to try each of these sports.

1:00 to 1:30 p.m. -  Breed Walk, show off our dogs.

1:30 to 2:30 p.m. -  Grooming seminar

2:30 p.m. -  Pot luck dinner, bring your favorite hot or cold dish

3:30 p.m.-  Fun with your dog, Frisbee, tricks, whatever you want to do.

Please bring your dog’s crate and plenty of water. Drinks and plates will be supplied for the potluck supper. This event will be held outside and inside, so come prepared for the weather! Don’t miss out on the fun!
